Spare Parts Officer – Perth WA

We are currently seeking an experienced spare parts officer to join our company to assist our workshop and field support teams.
This Perth based role will suit a professional parts interpreter who has experience in the heavy equipment and marine field, to provide strategic assistance to a busy workshop environment.
Your knowledge of equipment, machinery parts and spares will be valuable in contributing to lead times on site. In addition, you will be managing documentation, stock ordering and raising and closing of purchase orders to track and manage plant transfers through Austral Construction’s project and yards.
Austral will consider an experienced mechanic who is looking for a role in procurement with strong computer skills and procurement mindset.
Main duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Conduct physical inspections and acceptance of delivered goods and materials,
- Update and complete all Yard material supply registers daily,
- Ensure materials are ordered and sequenced with short lead times,
- Obtain best possible prices on services, equipment and products,
- Source goods and materials from approved suppliers and follow up on orders and deliveries,
- Uphold a positive and proactive safety culture ensuring that all activities meet organisational requirements,
- Aid in the coordination of Yard and Workshop waste removal,
- Assist with procuring material for our field teams,
Position requirements:
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word
- Experience with Pronto or a similar ERP is desired,
- Demonstrated practical experience within a procurement or parts role,
- Understand logistics and have experience with plant and machinery transportation,
- Competent in the use of planning software such as MS Project, P6 and Pronto.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skill,
- Attention to detail and analytical skills,
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
