The Baby Hope deposit is a key location in Rio Tinto’s Pilbara mining operations. Plans were put forth by Rio Tinto to increase the size and production of this facility.
Austral was contracted to undertake the extensive works that were to be undertaken to facilitate the construction of infrastructure needed to bring these plans to life, undertaking a diverse array of works across a variety of disciplines.
The creation of a 5ML turkey nest to meet water needs throughout construction
Creation of new roadways’ throughout the project area (new roads covering aprox. 50,000m2 footprint)
Entry boom gate to control the movement of traffic throughout the site
The establishment of additional telecommunications infrastructure to link the new facilities with the surrounding site
