Rio Tinto seeking finalisation earthworks of rail formation to complete the Gudai Darri Rail Line connecting the Tom Price line to the new Gudai Darri Mine site.
Austral was contracted to perform works to complete the rail formation, road maintenance tracks, drainage, culverts, borrow pits and rehabilitation. All works were completed without any disruption to scheduled rail sleeper and track construction works.
Earthworks for the SP4 & SP5 Gudai Darri Rail Formation including 50km of new rail formation and RMT Roadworks, including Borrow Pit Establishment, Drainage and Culverts and Rehabilitation
Works included peak labour of 100no personnel and plant for a 6month+ period
Areas included the Wittenoom Asbestos Control Area (WACA) with risk assessment and control implementation
Worked closely with the Rail Installation crew enabling sleeper and rail construction without delay
