Rail Bridge Bearing Replacement
- The existing pot bearings were found to be degrading with the compressible elastomer supports extruding from the bearing. To maintain a sustainable rail network, Roy Hill required these bearings to be replaced.
- Austral was contracted to replace the bridge bearings at the Yule River Bridge, BHP Overpass Bridge and the Coonarie Creek Bridge.
- Replacement of 14No. fixed bearings and 14No. guided bearings to the Yule River Bridge.
- Replacement of 6No. fixed bearings and 6No. guided bearings to the BHP Overpass Bridge. Existing abutment fixed bearings also required the removal and installation of new baseplates and grouting.
- Replacement of 6No. fixed bearings and 6No. guided bearings to the Coonarie Creek Bridge.
