Yandi Access Road Improvement
- BHP Billiton Iron Ore had changed their existing railroad network, making the Yandi junction along the network a train driver change over point. As a result, this change in the operation of the rail network lead to a rise in light vehicle use around the area.
- Austral was contracted to provide the Civil Engineering expertise needed to upgrade the existing infrastructure ahead of this change.
- Upgrading of the existing access track and the construction of a new access track with a sealed intersection
- Installation of road signs meeting all legal obligations and requests from client
- The installation of new culverts and associated general drainage works throughout the site
- Placement and compaction of 200mm basecourse material to 98% MMDD at multiple locations
