Richmond River Bridge Piling
- The Richmond River Bridge is part of the $4.9Bn Woolgoolga to Ballina Pacific Hwy Upgrade Project providing 155km of safer road network for users.
- Austral was contracted by Lendlease Engineering to install steel foundations for the new 980m Richmond River bridge. The project demonstrated Austral’s capability to drive tubular piles on land and over water for Lendlease, Pacific Complete and RMS.
- Installation of tubular steel piles to RMS B54 & B59 specifications including Temporary works incl. provision of temporary jetty for marine work logistics
- 22no. 1744mm DIA marine piles =< 46m long installed across navigable Richmond River
- 27no. 1544mm DIA land piles =< 46m long
- 4no. 900mm DIA B59 bored piles 30m long
- Structural welding of tubular steel piles
- Drilling out of driven piles, fitment of steel reinforcement cages and placement of structural concrete via tremie to RMS B80 specifications
- Installation of precast crosshead bathtubs
- Marine piles installed using 48m segmental barge with 300t crawler crane & hydraulic piling leader. Land piles driven using Austral’s Sennebogen 6100 HD-XLR piling rig.
