Dampier Bulk Handling Facility

Austral Construction has delivered the specialist onshore and offshore piling package for the Dampier Bulk Handling Facility, a new land-backed wharf designed to support the export of bulk urea through the Port of Dampier.

Working in extremely hard igneous rock, Austral drew on its specialist marine and piling expertise to install 81 soldier piles, 36 wharf piles and 12 dolphin piles using an Overburden Casing Drilling System (OCDS). The scope also included 97 sheet piles, reinforced grout infill to pile sockets and cutting piles to final design levels.

Combining specialist technical expertise, marine capability and a strong self-perform approach, Austral delivered a complex piling solution across both land and marine environments – providing the capability and delivery certainty required for critical port infrastructure.
